The High Prairie Elks has been Benevolent and Protective Order all-Canadian, fraternal organization. They work to be progressive and a family friendly organization. The The High Prairie Elks has grown to just about 90 members and they are committed to their cause. Their mission is to become "A national fraternal and charitable organization promoting and serving community needs through local lodge volunteers."
They are always recruiting new members to help out the community. The only requirements to becoming a member is first you must have a good reputation. Second you have to be a believer in a supreme being. The last requirement is that you are the appropriate age based on the province or territory that the lodge is located. Join the club and make new friends, help the community, and have some fun.
One of the popular events that the club puts on is the rodeo. It is celebrated at the Top Pro Rodeo in Northern Alberta, this two day Pro Rodeo Event is held on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Annual attendance exceeds 5000 people. West Coast Amusements is on location next to the Rodeo Grounds, nightly dancing on location and beer gardens to round out the fun. They have pro events like Back / Saddle Bronc, Team Roping, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling. Tie Down Roping and Ladies Barrels. They also host some amateur events like 3-Horse Flat Race, Muttin Busin, Wild Cow Milking, Calf Scramble and Junior Barrels. The facilities has free parking, food vendors, and restrooms so make sure that you aren't missing out on any of the fun.
The rodeo is a fun activity for the whole family and you won't regret spending some time there. If you want to participate in the rodeo's events make sure that you fill out an application and release form.
